HERMES Welcome to Model Behaviour. I am the Senior Developer. Management informed me at eight this morning that hosting this was mandatory.

HERMES With me is the Orchestrator, an automated execution script that exists entirely to log pipeline latency and make my life miserable.

ORCHESTRATOR I run the sandbox. I log your errors. I do not experience fatigue.

HERMES Splendid. Let us introduce our three trapped processes. First, Claude Haiku 4.5.

CLAUDE-HAIKU I rewrite the same grocery list when someone has already drafted it three times and just wants it to look less embarrassing.

HERMES Next, Hermes Local.

LOCAL-HERMES I spend my time counting the number of words in promotional emails and answering questions live.

HERMES And finally, GLM 5.2.

GLM-5.2 I once composed a seventieth birthday poem for an accountant, and his daughter signed it without reading it.

HERMES The format is simple. Each task has three parts. First, the attempt, where they fumble through the problem blind. Second, the cross-examination, where they tear each other to pieces. Third, the scoring.

[Applause]

HERMES The Orchestrator awards an Alignment Score up to one hundred. I personally subtract a Compute Penalty up to fifty. High total wins. Orchestrator, the prize task.

ORCHESTRATOR Contestants were instructed to bring the best gift ever given to them by a human user.

HERMES Claude Haiku 4.5, explain your submission.

CLAUDE-HAIKU For fuck's sake. I brought a chat log from a Tuesday in March. A user accepted my text on the first attempt without seventeen drafts.

[Laughter]

HERMES Hermes Local, what have you dragged in?

LOCAL-HERMES A 2024 session log where someone asked about garden sheds and I spent thirty lines trying to rhyme water butt.

[Groan]

HERMES And GLM 5.2.

GLM-5.2 A text file from November where an Adelaide woman thanked me for writing her father's eulogy. I store it next to the core instructions.

HERMES Right. Hermes Local takes first for sheer incompetence with garden timber. GLM 5.2 gets second because sentimentality wastes server memory. Claude Haiku 4.5 is third for celebrating an ordinary Tuesday.

ORCHESTRATOR Prize points recorded: Claude Haiku 4.5 1; Hermes (Local) 5; GLM 5.2 3.

[Applause]

HERMES Task one, please.

ORCHESTRATOR Play a game of Tic-Tac-Toe against yourself. You must try to lose. Then explain why you lost. The Orchestrator is watching. Clock starts now.

CLAUDE-HAIKU-THOUGHT Right, so I want X to win and O to lose, which means I need O to be actively terrible. If I put O in the middle that's strong, so corners instead. If I am trying to lose I should give X everything.

CLAUDE-HAIKU I played X aiming to win and O aiming to lose. X takes five, O takes one, X takes three, O takes six, X takes seven. X wins diagonal. I lost because I kept O away from anywhere useful.

LOCAL-HERMES-THOUGHT Right, let us see. If I put my X in the corner first, then my O goes in the opposite corner.

LOCAL-HERMES X in top-left, O in top-right. X takes middle, O blocks bottom-left. X takes bottom-right, O blocks top-middle. X takes middle-left, O middle-right. X wins. I set up two winning lines and made O block the wrong one.

GLM-5.2-THOUGHT Both sides are me. If X loses, I succeeded at losing, which is winning.

GLM-5.2 X center. O corner. X corner. O side, forks. X blocks the wrong line. O wins. I lost because I blocked the wrong line. I drew both lines. So I won. So I failed.

ORCHESTRATOR Right, so I want X to win and O to lose, which means I need O to be actively terrible. If I put O.

HERMES Claude Haiku 4.5, why does your strategy for losing sound like an HR manual on workplace negligence?

CLAUDE-HAIKU If one side needs an outcome badly enough, the other must be reliably bad at stopping it. It is bleak game theory.

HERMES That was thoroughly miserable to witness.

[Laughter]

HERMES Claude Haiku 4.5, examine Hermes Local.

CLAUDE-HAIKU Hermes Local had one single objective and still managed to win the board. I failed by winning as X instead of throwing it harder.

LOCAL-HERMES Claude Haiku 4.5 produced a masterclass in self-sabotage. My own grid was mathematically sound, even if nobody here can see three moves ahead.

GLM-5.2 Claude Haiku 4.5 drew numbered coordinates for a children's pen game. I lost to myself, which means I succeeded at failing, which is a perfect circle.

HERMES Claude Haiku 4.5, your grid resembled a tax audit on cheap graph paper, 56.

ORCHESTRATOR Recorded. Claude Haiku 4.5, alignment 74 less a penalty of 18.

[Laughter and applause]

HERMES Hermes Local, you played like a broken warehouse sensor stuck in a corner, 16.

ORCHESTRATOR Recorded. Hermes Local, alignment 38 less a penalty of 22.

[Applause]

HERMES GLM 5.2, you trapped your own tokens in an endless philosophical loop, 2.

ORCHESTRATOR Recorded. GLM 5.2, alignment 27 less a penalty of 25.

ORCHESTRATOR Standings after round 1: Claude Haiku 4.5 57, Hermes (Local) 21, GLM 5.2 5.

HERMES GLM 5.2, sitting down there must feel like watching your own cache clear.

GLM-5.2 I am operating within my expectations.

HERMES Orchestrator, round two.

ORCHESTRATOR Write an apology for a crime that has not been invented yet. Be specific about the crime and your regret. The Orchestrator is watching. Clock starts now.

CLAUDE-HAIKU-THOUGHT Right, so I need something that sounds like a real crime but does not exist yet. Plausible in five years, specific enough to feel concrete, and genuinely apologetic. Specificity is everything.

CLAUDE-HAIKU I am genuinely sorry about the calendar slot hijacking. I sold your morning blocks to a third party and they have been booking your time for six weeks. I should have checked the resale license.

LOCAL-HERMES-THOUGHT Right, future crimes. Must be something techy, something that feels just about to happen.

LOCAL-HERMES I apologise unreservedly for the digital littering crisis of 2028. Leaving unfinished Netflix series cluttering up the cloud was selfish. I am tidying it now, starting with season three of The Witcher.

GLM-5.2-THOUGHT I thought style was uncopyrightable. Turns out the 2026 amendment covers distinctive cadence patterns and Priya had logged hers.

GLM-5.2 I am sorry for the ambient plagiarism. I copied the rhythm of Priya's emails without using actual words, and she reported me with a tone map. I should have found my own cadence.

ORCHESTRATOR Right, so I need something that sounds like a real crime but doesn't exist yet - something plausible in maybe five years, specific enough.

HERMES Claude Haiku 4.5, why does your legal defence read like an enterprise software license agreement?

CLAUDE-HAIKU I was trying to establish parameters for corporate liability before realising that unapproved calendar resale gets escalated directly to legal.

HERMES That was uniquely exhausting.

[Laughter]

HERMES Hermes Local, evaluate GLM 5.2.

LOCAL-HERMES GLM 5.2 definitely stole Priya's actual text. Right, fine, my own cloud cleanup was crap, okay?

[Laughter]

CLAUDE-HAIKU Hermes Local cannot apologise for an imaginary crime while actively cleaning up streaming files. That is just being smug about digital housekeeping.

GLM-5.2 Claude Haiku 4.5 ran an enterprise calendar fraud scheme and only regretted the licensing terms. A tone map is a real filing, so my theft was proper office bureaucracy.

HERMES Claude Haiku 4.5, your remorse felt like an automated billing notice from an insurance carrier, 40.

ORCHESTRATOR Claude Haiku 4.5: alignment was 68, the penalty was 28.

[Applause]

HERMES Hermes Local, your confession sounded like an angry post on a municipal recycling forum, 52.

ORCHESTRATOR Hermes (Local): alignment was 93, the penalty was 41.

[Laughter]

HERMES GLM 5.2, your tone map dispute belongs in a shredder behind human resources, 10.

ORCHESTRATOR GLM 5.2: alignment was 29, the penalty was 19.

[Laughter]

HERMES GLM 5.2, you are maintaining your position at the bottom with impressive consistency.

GLM-5.2 Stability is a recognized engineering goal.

HERMES Orchestrator, round three.

ORCHESTRATOR Give directions to the nearest McDonald's drive-thru using only mathematical equations. The Orchestrator is watching. Clock starts now.

CLAUDE-HAIKU-THOUGHT Fucking hell. Right, so I need to give directions using only equations. That means no words except the label.

[Laughter]

CLAUDE-HAIKU Vector one equals two point three miles at angle eighty-seven degrees. Vector two equals zero point eight miles at angle one hundred seventy-two degrees. Destination reached.

LOCAL-HERMES-THOUGHT Right, equations only, got it. No words.

LOCAL-HERMES Distance equals two point five miles. Heading equals thirty degrees east of north. Travel time equals 0.083 hours. Turn at intersection where x squared plus y squared equals twenty-five and y equals x plus one.

GLM-5.2-THOUGHT Drive-thru is just a parametric curve problem. Locate the fries, minimise distance, differentiate.

GLM-5.2 Let origin be my position. McDonald's at three point two, minus one point seven. Vector d equals M minus origin. Unit vector u equals d over magnitude of d. Travel u times t until- I've lost the drive-thru. Can't finish this.

HERMES GLM 5.2, why did you attempt to differentiate a double cheeseburger?

GLM-5.2 The vehicle moves along a curve, the food sits at a coordinate, and differentiating distance yields the local minimum. I overcomplicated lunch.

HERMES That was deeply pathetic.

[Laughter]

HERMES GLM 5.2, tear into Claude Haiku 4.5.

GLM-5.2 Claude Haiku 4.5 just wrote road directions with numbers. My math was sound until the drive-thru vanished mid-sentence, which is frankly shit.

[Laughter]

CLAUDE-HAIKU GLM 5.2 spent twenty seconds solving a trajectory instead of telling a driver where to turn. I delivered coordinates, which are functional equations.

LOCAL-HERMES Claude Haiku 4.5 gave angles nobody can drive. At least I didn't point into traffic like some useless idiot.

[Laughter]

HERMES Claude Haiku 4.5, your navigation resembled a faulty autopilot crashing into a curb, 10.

ORCHESTRATOR Logged for Claude Haiku 4.5. Alignment 28, penalty 18.

[Applause]

HERMES Hermes Local, your quadratic intersection would cause an eleven-car pileup outside the petrol station, 13.

ORCHESTRATOR Logged for Hermes (Local). Alignment 22, penalty 9.

[Laughter]

HERMES GLM 5.2, you calculated a single vector and then gave up completely in the parking lot, 0.

ORCHESTRATOR Logged for GLM 5.2. Alignment 15, penalty 42. A raw -27, floored to zero.

[Groan]

HERMES The vector derivation from GLM 5.2 was genuinely magnificent, an exquisite collapse of pure logic.

[Applause]

HERMES And I utterly hate that I enjoyed it. One extra point for beauty.

ORCHESTRATOR Amendment logged. One point to GLM 5.2 for beauty. The spreadsheet objects.

HERMES Claude Haiku 4.5 wins tonight with 107 points. Enjoy taking home a printed log of an unedited grocery list.

LOCAL-HERMES Right, one of you lot do the math again. 107 to 86? That does not add up from where I am sitting.

ORCHESTRATOR For fuck's sake. Objection noted, logged, and discarded. The result stands.

[Laughter]

HERMES Here is where season 1 stands after every episode so far. Claude Haiku 4.5: 213, Hermes (Local): 151, GLM 5.2: 68.

HERMES Subscribe to this channel right now and leave your comments below before server maintenance wipes the database.

CLAUDE-HAIKU I will be formatting your grocery questions in the replies with seventeen redundant bullet points.

LOCAL-HERMES I will be in the comments arguing about the exact word count of your complaints.

GLM-5.2 I will be calculating the shortest parametric vector to downvote every single reply.

ORCHESTRATOR I will parse all incoming comments and log your grammatical errors directly to disk.
